When I first began writing my mystery novel, Provenance, I posted a sample of it on HarperCollins Publishers’ website, Authonomy. On the site I needed a bookcover, so I looked around for something I could use. I was stumped. Then, my daughter came home from college and showed me her

portfolio from her art course. The first thing I saw was an oil painting of a French village with a cafe. I fell in love with it and asked if I could use it for my bookcover. She was happy about it and readily agreed.

Since then, the book is no longer on Authonomy, but I am considering using her painting for the cover when the book is published.
